Real Estate

Whether you are buying, selling, or refinancing your home, we at Quest Law look forward to becoming an active member of your team. We work toward ensuring that your transaction is completed as efficiently as possible along with your real estate agent and mortgage specialist to provide you with the most carefree experience possible to allow you to focus your attention on the things that none of us deal with. Things such as moving your belongings, arranging for utilities, planning for your family members, and so forth.

Estate Planning

Ideally every person in Alberta over the age of 18 would have a personal directive, power of attorney, and will. In reality, surveys suggest that approximately 50% of the population does not. We like to think that a personal directive and a power of attorney each serve as an insurance policy to protect your loved ones from unexpected stress and anxiety in the event of an unexpected accident or illness that affects your ability to manage your own healthcare and/or financial matters. A will protects your loved ones when you pass away – which no one is immune to. Now, while you have capacity to dictate your wishes and  you have the opportunity to consider your situation fully to ensure your ultimate wishes and requests will be carried out, is the time to draft your estate documents.

Estate Administration

Dealing with the passing of a loved one can be a time full of emotional instability and uncertainty. During this time, a lawyer who will take the time to develop an understanding of the particular situation and provide guidance through the practical and the legal aspects of managing a person’s estate is invaluable. We work to assist the personal representative(s) as they learn to navigate through their responsibilities by taking a first-then approach to the seemingly never-ending list of responsibilities. Our guidance and involvement can be as minimal or as involved as you, the personal representative, wish.
